Pinning A Boutonniere Or Corsage

Pin-on-corsage

Follow These Simple Steps for Pinning a Boutonniere or Corsage

A boutonniere is worn on the man’s left lapel approximately 4″ from the top of the shoulder. Ladies also usually prefer their corsage on their left side.

We provide 2 pins for your convenience. Some pin-on flowers require two pins to keep the flowers from falling it forward.

Before pinning be sure any greenery is behind the flowers. Hold the boutonniere or corsage by its stem in your left hand and place it flat against the lapel or dress.

  • For a lapel: Guide the pin from behind the lapel into the top and thickest part of the stem. Push the pin through the stem and back into the fabric. If possible tuck the point of the pin between the layers of fabric. If the boutonniere is heavy repeat this process with a pin through the lower part of the stem.

  • For a dress: Thread the pin in and out the fabric one time then into the top and thickest part of the stem. Push the pin through the stem and back into the fabric and out to the top again so the pin is not under the clothing next to the skin. Corsages are often top heavy so you may also need to repeat this process with a pin through a stem behind the flowers at the top portion of the corsage.

Testimonials

Lora, I must say my bouquet was one of my favorite parts of my wedding!  I was literally obsessed with it. I hated leaving on my honeymoon after the wedding because I wanted to enjoy it longer.  I wish I could have kept it forever!  Thank you so much for making our day and pictures so unique. – Marguerite
